6 month contract role, with possibility of extension.


1-2 week onsite training period in Austin, TX (paid expenses)


Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Test Automation Engineer with expertise in Qt and Squish to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts for our software applications. You will work closely with software developers, QA engineers, and product managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Squish for applications built with the Qt framework.

  • Test Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement test automation strategies and plans that align with project goals.

  • Test Execution & Reporting: Execute automated test scripts, analyze results, and report defects using test management tools. Provide detailed reports on test outcomes and suggest improvements.

  • Continuous Integration: Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous testing and faster delivery cycles.

  • Test Case Management: Develop, review, and optimize automated test cases to increase test coverage and efficiency.

  • Code Review & Best Practices: Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices for test automation, ensuring high code quality and maintainability.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA teams, and product managers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

  • Tool & Framework Development: Enhance existing test automation frameworks and tools or develop new ones to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test scripts, and test execution results.


Technical Skills:



  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar.

  • Strong experience with Squish for test automation of Qt applications.

  • Familiarity with the Qt framework and related development tools.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.

  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with additional test automation tools.

  • Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g., C++, C#) is a plus.

  • Experience in performance testing and load testing.

  • Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
