ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the end-to-end Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and retirement of software assets across the enterprise.
  • Utilize ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) to track software installations, license compliance, entitlements, and optimize usage.
  • Prepare and process purchasing forms such as purchase orders; verify the appropriateness of budget codes and cost centers to align with SAM governance.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing department, external vendors, and resellers to manage software acquisitions and renewals.
  • Track software entitlements, monitor license usage, and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and cost-efficiency.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis in Excel and ServiceNow to provide visibility into software usage and compliance status.
  • Compile financial, contractual, and inventory analysis data to support enterprise IT asset lifecycle management.
  • Recommend and help enforce SAM policies and procedures to ensure software compliance and mitigate audit risks.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests; investigate licensing discrepancies and resolve compliance issues.
  • Analyze discovery and procurement data across multiple systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Excel, vendor portals) to support software reconciliation and true-up processes.

Helps with all of the application and data gathering process, Product, version, reclaim licenses and set up in SAM Tool is set up (Phase I), small subset of software, some integration (SaaS Integration with MS and Adobe) (50 desktop apps in SAM), Integration (more SAS, Ariba, OIM) 500 more apps to get into the tool CMDB is already integrated
