Position Overview
Matech client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled and strategic IT Manager to oversee and support the company’s technology infrastructure, business systems, and cybersecurity posture. The IT Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that technology effectively supports manufacturing operations, production efficiency, and overall business growth.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and experienced in managing IT in an industrial or manufacturing environment — balancing day-to-day technical support with long-term strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the IT function, providing direction and oversight for infrastructure, applications, and support.
- Develop and execute IT strategies that align with business goals and manufacturing priorities.
- Manage IT budgets, vendors, and procurement processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Oversee and maintain network and server infrastructure across production facilities and offices.
- Manage critical systems such as ERP/MRP platforms, MES, SCADA, and production control systems.
- Ensure high availability and uptime for systems that support production operations.
- Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
- Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
- Coordinate with external auditors or consultants for compliance with data protection standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, or industry-specific requirements).
Support & Service Management
- Oversee helpdesk operations and ensure timely resolution of user issues.
- Support and train users on company software, hardware, and security best practices.
- Maintain asset inventory, software licensing, and lifecycle management.
Project Management
- Plan and lead IT projects including system upgrades, network enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, engineering, finance, logistics) to support technology needs.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies that improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT management or senior IT leadership role.
- Proven experience supporting IT environments in manufacturing, industrial, or production settings.
- Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN/VPN), Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
- Experience managing ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a hands-on, service-oriented approach.
Preferred:
- Experience with automation systems, industrial networks, and IoT devices.
- Familiarity with PLC/SCADA integration and manufacturing data systems.
- IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified, or CISSP).
- Experience managing multi-site operations or manufacturing plants.
