Job Title : Middle Office Technical Analyst Investment Operations (Wires Management)

The client is seeking a business-focused technologist and functional subject matter expert to support and enhance technology capabilities within the Middle Office and Controllers divisions. The Middle Office Technical Analyst will partner closely with stakeholders across Investment Operations to lead technology initiatives, gather and document business requirements, coordinate system development, testing, and implementation, and ensure ongoing operational support.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional with a strong understanding of middle office operations, wire management systems, and financial instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with middle office operations professionals to understand business needs, define functional and technical requirements, and partner with developers to implement effective solutions.

  • Engage internal teams and external vendors to establish project timelines, development strategies, and implementation plans.

  • Maintain project documentation including project plans, risk matrices, issue logs, and related artifacts to ensure timely and successful delivery.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases; participate actively in development and QA testing phases.

  • Analyze middle office workflows, processes, and systems to identify improvement opportunities and align with long-term technology strategy.

  • Partner with the business to ensure SLAs, performance metrics, and service quality targets are met or exceeded.

  • Identify, document, and promote best practices for system usage across internal and external teams.

  • Act as an escalation point for functional support issues, performing thorough root cause analyses (RCA) and driving permanent resolutions.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across operations, technology, and management teams.

Required Experience and Technical Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, functional design, development, testing, and implementation.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with C#, Python, SQL, and Excel Macros.

  • Proven expertise with a leading wire management platform; IVP Cash Master experience is strongly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of systems managing Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI), SWIFT message generation, and cash settlement automation supporting straight-through processing.

  • Experience with SWIFT message formats such as MT1XX, MT2XX, and MT9XX.

  • Strong background in Business Analysis, including use case modeling, process documentation, and solution conceptualization.

  • Deep understanding of middle office functions and credit instruments such as bank loans, bonds, and derivatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences.

  • Self-directed, motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus.

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required.

  • Advanced degree (Master s or higher) from a top-tier university is strongly preferred.
