Job Details
Role: Application Packager
Locations: 100% Remote
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Job Description:
- Application Packager is responsible for end-to-end application discovery and packaging process to ensure a standard and reliable environment within customer s application estate.
- The application SME will support discovery and assessment as well as technical packaging tasks and following quality reviews.
Responsibility:
- Support implementation and transformation programs for complex enterprise scale solutions.
- Work with Architects, Subject Matter Experts, Solution Designers in designing IT solutions (Transformation Projects).
- Assess and discovery applications using existing repositories, application documentation and other methods.
- Setup application packaging flow.
- Creation of applications packages using build-in recapture software.
- Detect the installer type and hidden MSI files.
- Automatically add application packaging standard properties.
- Creates packages according to a set of naming conventions.
- Run Quality Assurance test against package created.
Education/Experience/Training:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as Windows Desktop engineer or similar.
- Experience with Windows 10 and 11 Desktop Operating Systems, Image Management, Application Packaging & Distribution, performance monitoring tools in a large, distributed environment.
- Knowledge of one or more of application packaging tools such as Flexera AdminStudio, MSIX packaging tool, Intune-Win32-App-Packaging Tool, WrapperWise Packaging Studio, RayPack, or Master Packager, Application Readiness.
- Understanding of deployment tools such as SCCM/MECM, Intune or any other enterprise application deployment and automation systems.
- Understanding of Windows image management utilizing Microsoft Deployment Tool Kit (MDT), Task Sequencing and hardware driver injection to create hardware images.
- Windows Installer Technology (MSI) Deep knowledge of MSI table structure.
Specialized Knowledge/ Skills:
- System Center Configuration Manager/ Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
- Command Line: Working knowledge of DISM and WMI commands.
- SCCM/MECM Collections via Direct or Dynamic WQL Query rules.
- MSI-Based Installs/ Uninstalls, install shield (EXE) based Installs/Uninstalls, scripting, etc.)
- AdminStudio/ InstallShield, RayPack, Orca, Master Packager.
- Scripting PowerShell, VBScript.
- SCCM/ MECM/ Intune.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
