Migration Execution: Support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) of data between systems while maintaining data integrity.
System Coverage: Migrate data across heterogeneous systems, including OLTP to OLTP (e.g., transactional applications), and OLTP to OLAP scenarios.
Audit Trail Maintenance: Ensure that all data movements are traceable, auditable, and compliant with internal and regulatory requirements.
Data Validation: Develop and execute validation checks post-migration to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Documentation: Maintain detailed migration documentation, including data dictionaries, mapping specs, and transformation logic.
Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, application SMEs, DBAs, and engineering teams to coordinate cutovers and resolve data issues.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in data migration, data integration, or data engineering roles.
Prior experience working on large-scale system migrations or modernization programs.
Technical Skills:
Strong SQL skills (data querying, validation, joins, and aggregation).
Hands-on experience with data profiling and data quality tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, OpenRefine).
Proficient in preparing source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and migration specs.
Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python or Shell is desirable. Familiarity with ETL tools and/or custom migration scripts.
Other Skills:
Understanding of relational data modeling concepts and referential integrity.
Ability to work with structured and semi-structured data.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and traceability.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and services like S3, Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
Experience with data in healthcare, government, or financial systems where auditability and compliance are key.
Familiarity with big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a bonus but not required.
Basic knowledge of data governance and metadata management principles.
