MetaPha se is seeking a Technical Cybersecurity Manager to le ad a highly specialized security operations and engineering team in support of large-scale federal cloud and IT environments. This individual will be responsible for delivering enterprise-grade cybersecurity capabilities such as vulnerability scanning, data loss prevention, encryption, patching, and penetration testing. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership experience to support both ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead the support for cloud and on-premise security operations.
  • Oversee implementation and tuning of security controls: firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, vulnerability scanning, patch management, and encryption.
  • Deliver highly technical security solutions and analysis to proactively reduce risk and meet evolving compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST).
  • Perform detailed technical studies, risk assessments, and recommendations on emerging threats and security posture improvements.
  • Lead cloud security initiatives across AWS, Azure, or other cloud service providers , ensuring compliance with ATO processes and Zero Trust principles.
  • Develop and present clear, actionable reports, briefings, and dashboards to executive leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Support or lead technical task orders as a Project Manager, including tracking milestones, deliverables, and team performance.
  • Serve as the security SME for incident response, remediation efforts, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Collaborate with IT, DevSecOps , architecture, and compliance teams to strengthen integration and automation of security functions.

What We Need From You (Required):
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience , including 6+ years of specialized experience in security engineering and architecture.
  • 4+ years of concentrated hands-on experience delivering cloud-related security services.
  • Expertise in one or more areas: vulnerability management, endpoint protection, SIEM/SOAR, penetration testing, data loss prevention, or secure cloud architecture.
  • Experience securing AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments using modern tools and frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, RMF).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills-capable of translating technical risks to leadership.
  • Experience managing or mentoring teams and/or leading technical projects or task orders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology , Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS). Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Bonus Points (Desired):
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - strongly preferred.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or other cybersecurity certifications.
  • Familiarity with security automation tools, IaC security scanning, and DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Experience supporting cloud ATOs and working with federal cybersecurity authorities.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), CDM, and continuous diagnostics and mitigation.

Work Setup & Travel:

  • Hybrid - Based in Springfield, VA. Occasional travel may be required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT Management, or related field
