Job Title: Allscripts Billing Specialist
Location: Norman, OK (Onsite)

Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing Specialist with experience in medical billing and collections to join our team in Norman, OK. This is an onsite role requiring a strong understanding of Medicare/Medicaid claims processing, third-party payer procedures, and the ability to handle insurance denials. Experience with Veradigm EMR (formerly Allscripts) is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and post patient charges and monitor payments

• Respond to patient inquiries regarding accounts and insurance coverage

• Verify insurance benefits and determine patient financial responsibility

• Research and resolve insurance denials and unpaid claims

• Perform collection actions and assist patients with financial assistance programs

• Evaluate financial status and establish payment plans as needed

• Review accounts for potential collection agency referral

• Oversee claim processing, including audits and payment reviews

• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality

• Complete assigned tasks within EMR software accurately and on time

• Maintain a professional and organized work environment

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

• Medical billing and collection practices

• Basic medical coding (CPT/ICD-10 familiarity)

• Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payer procedures

• EMR systems; Veradigm (Allscripts) experience is a plus

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

• Effective communication and customer service skills

• Ability to resolve claim issues and work collaboratively with payers and patients

• Familiarity with payment posting and denial management

Preferred Experience:

• 2+ years in a medical billing role

• Experience handling insurance denials and payment posting

• Knowledge of government and commercial payer guidelines
