Job Description
The Project Manager will report to the IT Assistant Deputy Commissioner and support both the Department CIO and DAS business owners. This role will manage multiple IT and business projects that impact productivity and service delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, working closely with software vendors, service providers, OIT teams, and DAS staff.
ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate all tasks for small to large-scale projects with moderate to high complexity and risk.
Oversee and provide project management consultation across all phases of the SDLC.
Collaborate with OIT teams, business leads, vendors, and SMEs to ensure project success.
Manage projects according to Statements of Work (SOWs), vendor contracts, and steering committee directives.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and communication plans.
Track project performance and provide regular updates to leadership on status, milestones, and risks.
Facilitate project kickoff meetings, define roles and responsibilities, and ensure clear communication across teams.
Conduct lessons learned sessions and ensure deliverables meet client expectations.
Lead process improvement and redesign efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
Coordinate with quality assurance and vendor teams to ensure adherence to standards.
Evaluate project variances, collect performance metrics, and apply corrective actions as needed.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Bachelor s degree in a related field or equivalent specialized training.
PMP certification from PMI (or equivalent).
7+ years of experience managing IT projects of moderate to high complexity.
