Position Details:


Title: Senior SharePoint and Purview Engineer


Duration: 6+ months


Location: Toronto, ON


Work Model: Hybrid 3 day in office, 2 day WFH (flexible which days)


Start Date: ASAP


Compensation: $60-$70/hour


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:



  • Refactor or redesign long-running PowerShell scripts used for SharePoint permissioning and automation.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to SPO access, sharing, and compliance posture.

  • Develop solutions using Graph API to enhance automation and reporting capabilities.

  • Configure and enforce MS Purview policies including labels, retention rules, and governance frameworks.

  • Support SharePoint permission reviews and implement improvements to align with best security practices.

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal teams on testing and upgrade readiness.

  • Manage and mitigate throttling issues using API header responses.


Must-Haves:



  • 5+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting and Graph API in enterprise environments.

  • 7 8 years of hands-on experience with SharePoint, including legacy and modern environments.

  • 7 8 years of experience with MS Purview, focusing on data governance, labeling, and compliance.

  • Strong understanding of SharePoint Online security architecture, data lifecycle, and access control.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex SPO and Purview issues across multiple geolocations.


Pluses:



  • Experience working in large, enterprise-scale environments.

  • Familiarity with managing SharePoint across multi-geo configurations.
