Position: IT Project Manager

Location: Minneapolis MN Onsite

IT Project Manager - Multiple Application Projects - MPLS, MN - Onsite, local preferred

Our Minneapolis, MN Client seeks a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager for multiple Application Projects.

The successful candidate will manage multiple application projects ($100k-1M in size), reporting on scope, schedule, budget, and resources on a monthly basis, working with business stakeholders to ensure the business outcome is achieved.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for the Implementation and Quality of Key IT Business Deliverables
  • Engage the appropriate IT SME s to work on the project as necessary and provide their work direction
  • Develop and execute the IT project schedule, including milestones, tasks, duration, dependencies, and resource assignments
  • Ensure IT Requirements are defined from Project Stakeholders
  • Provide estimates for IT project elements
  • Identify, track, and lead the resolution of Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID)
  • Ensure project adherence to Client IT policies, standards and processes
  • Track, communicate and provide impact analysis of changes to IT Scope, Schedule & Budget
  • Produce monthly IT Project Status Reports for Leadership
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration; motivate and direct the team s effort
  • Ensure project team members and business partners understand their roles and responsibilities within the project
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing
  • Ensure business is ready for the change
  • Research and work with solution architect to recommend solution options
  • Facilitate business acceptance of solution, ensuring change management is a part of the project implementation

Must Have:

  • Application Project Management experience (5-7+ years) including experience working with software vendors
  • Business analysis experience (1-3 years)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Leadership and team building skills
  • MS Project or other project planning software
  • MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong understanding of the various components/elements of a system application

PREFERRED

  • Experience managing projects for Public Safety departments (Police and/or Fire); experience managing projects where solutions are purchased (versus built)
