Role: Data Warehouse Business Analyst with K-12/P20W Experience
Location: Madison, WI
Interview Process: Teams
Duration of the Contract: 6/30/26 with the possibility of extension
Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense
Position is nearly 100% remote, with 1-2 in person meetings in Madison, WI per year
Top Required Skills & Years of Experience:
3-5 years of experience in the below
- Prior experience in data warehousing or dashboarding projects (3-5 years)
- Ability to create test plans and perform application, reporting and system regression tests
- Ability to estimate phases of work and contribute to project planning, including experience writing user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria.
- Experience using relational databases (writing queries, etc.) using SQL Server
Nice to Have Skills:
- Ability to synthesize requirements and work with developers to create options/recommendation papers for decisions to be made by any stakeholder level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and reporting in the education sector (K-12/P20W).
Project details: (Microsoft Fabric/Power BI). These systems require extensive K-12 sector knowledge and experience integrating complex data and developing dashboards and reports to convey that information to DPI staff, school districts and the general public. The candidates will be working to gather requirements, assure quality and generally build out the agency's modernized WISEdash Public portal.
