Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Data Scientist to join a collaborative team dedicated to analytics for utility operations, including gas, electric generation, distribution, renewables, pipelines, and thermal. This role will leverage Microsoft Azure as the primary platform for data and analytics. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data models and algorithms using Microsoft Azure services to support analytics projects in asset management.
  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts, data engineers, and other team members to understand operational challenges and translate them into actionable data-driven solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery from data exploration, model building, to deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Utilize Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis, handling large-scale data sets effectively.
  • Apply version control tools like Git in an Agile development environment to maintain code integrity and support project management.
  • Participate in daily team check-ins, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and engage in continuous learning about utility asset operations.
  • Support the integration of analytics insights into business processes to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.

Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience in managing full lifecycle data science projects from conception to deployment.
  • Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in the utility industry or asset management is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to ethical data practices and a strong orientation towards privacy and security.

Pay Range: $55.00 - $60.00 Hourly

This position is based in office and requires the employee to work on-site.
