The role of a Technical Writer involves creating clear, concise, and accurate documentationthat communicates complex technical information eff ectively to various stakeholders. TheTechnical Writer will collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and enhancedocumentation including both public-facing reporting on the history of vocational education and current program off erings. The role will also involve creating clear, concise, andaccurate documentation for managing and utilizing a range of sensitive data. The purposeof the documentation includes ensuring data quality and accuracy, providing clear roles andresponsibilities, guaranteeing compliance with various legal and regulatory factors, andsafeguarding data against unauthorized use or disclosure. The role will both compose newdocumentation and edit the work of others, ensuring high standards for readability,grammar, and context. The key to success in this role is the ability to synthesize complexinstructions into easy-to-follow reports, policies, procedures, and general communications.The person in this position should be an expert in communications.

Responsibilities:
The objective is to produce public-facing and internal-facing deliverables in orderto support the work of the Offi ce of Education Through Employment Pathways.This includes authoring the vocational education study as well as a series of clear,concise, and accurate documentation to capture data governance requirementsand best practices to support the upcoming launch of the Education ThroughEmployment (ETE) Data System and ensure compliance with federal and local lawsand regulations regarding data privacy and security.
Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and researching existingresources and best practices to gather necessary information.
Writing guidelines used to ensure data is used properly and managed withconsistency.
Writing technical documents such as data governance manuals, data stewardshipprocedures, audit and oversight policies and processes, data risk managementplan, data reporting standards, etc. for a range of uses related to data availability,usability, integrity, quality, and security.
Writing data governance policies in a consistent format which allows fordocumentation to be revisited and revised throughout the ETEP Data System'slifetime as needed.
Defi ning procedures for handling any future changes to data governance policiesand procedures.
Defi ning data governance and stewardship practices which are transparent andestablish proactive accountability.
Ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all data governancedocumentation.
Conducting compliance checks to ensure adherence to standards and accuracy ofthe information.
Writes a variety of technical documents including the vocational educationalstudy, data governance manuals, data stewardship procedures, audit and oversightpolicies and processes, data risk management plan, data reporting standards, etc.for a range of uses related to data availability, usability, integrity, quality, andsecurity.
Coordinates the display of simple graphics and the production of the document.
Ensures content is of high quality and conforms to standards.

Minimum Education/Certifi cation Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in IT, data science, statistics, business analytics or related fi eldor equivalent experience
