Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Lakeland, FL - hybrid - 2 days/week onsite
Salary: 115 - 120K/ annual base salary

Role Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for managing the provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware, software, and associated network infrastructure. This individual will assess current and future network requirements while addressing organizational needs. The role involves troubleshooting and configuring LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity and contributing to major IT projects through planning, tracking, and communication. This position serves as an escalation point for resolving advanced issues related to production and disaster recovery infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN/VPN/Firewall connectivity issues, escalating complex cases as needed.
- Monitor network systems to ensure consistent availability and maximize uptime.
- Mentor and coach team members on troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
- Lead and oversee networking-related projects, ensuring timely execution and implementation.
- Develop test and implementation plans, as well as project timelines.
- Stay updated on technological trends and their impact on the industry.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues for system users and team members.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for incident management.
- Perform hardware and software failure analysis, conduct root cause investigations, and implement recovery solutions.
- Install and upgrade network equipment, including cables, switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Manage routing, switching, wireless, and load-balancing technologies.
- Assist with maintaining virtual environments and Cisco UCS blade infrastructure.
- Maintain detailed network documentation, including architecture and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to standardize network configurations and design architecture roadmaps.
- Support capacity planning by performing KPI reporting.
- Follow ITIL best practices to optimize infrastructure operations.
- Research and implement innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
- Work with RF and barcode technologies, including mobile scanners and label printing solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications:
- Required: Cisco CCNP (Data Center or Enterprise), Juniper JNCIP (Data Center or Enterprise), Palo Alto PCNSA
- Preferred: A+, Network+, Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE (Data Center or Enterprise), Palo Alto PCNSE, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Network Virtualization
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining network infrastructure.
- Expertise in virtualization technologies (VMware) and storage systems (iSCSI, replication).
- Familiarity with IT operations processes and lifecycle management.
- Strong background in hardware engineering, performance analysis, and data center operations.
- Proficiency in networking fundamentals: routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and encrypted technologies like SSL.
- Industry-specific experience in 3PL, warehousing (WMS), transportation (TMS), or fulfillment is a plus.
- Experience with warehouse systems, portable scanners, and label printing equipment is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for site support.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with change management processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capacity to discuss and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
