Job Details
Role: Network Engineer
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 6 months with possibility to go Perm
Interview: MS Teams/WebEx/Video
Duration: 6 months with possibility to go Perm
Note:
This is remote but may involve occasional travel.
Important skills:
- Must have prior experience working at an MSP
- Communication is super important. This will need to be someone polished
- No trade offs for Fortinet
- This is a six-month contract and if all goes well likely to go perm.
Description:
As the Network Engineer you will be responsible for the following:
- Assist in creating best-in-class network service through building reliable, high performing client networks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams Work with Practice Lead to establish Network Engineer best practices.
- Collaborate with network architects to optimize system performance. Communicate any major changes to upper management as necessary.
- Implement security measures across hardware and software in accordance with company requirements, updating associated documentation as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on current technologies, serve as technology consultant, and make recommendations based on knowledge and research.
- Serve as escalation point for high-level issues not resolved by Operations Center and Service Delivery Center.
- Maintaining and administering client networks and related computing environments including network systems software/firmware, network hardware, and any associated configurations.
- Monitor ticketing system and respond timely to escalated Incidents and Service Requests.
- Troubleshooting system and network issues and implementing solutions as needed, including addressing software and hardware complications.
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, WAN accelerators, load balancers, wireless access points.
- Implement upgrades such as security configurations, hot fixes, patches and service packs.
- Manage system backups and related data recovery protocols in the event of memory loss.
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing protocols.
- Deploy and troubleshoot VPN configurations.
- Perform root cause analysis of network issues.
- Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
- Candidates must have Fortinet and Cisco experience.
