AWS Development and Database Administrator
Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months contract

Overview:
  • This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of an AWS Developer and an AWS Database Administrator, requiring expertise in both application development and database management within the AWS ecosystem.
  • The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain cloud-based applications while ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of AWS database solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Development Tasks-
  • Design and develop cloud-native applications using AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
  • Write and maintain code for integrating AWS services into applications.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and updates.
  • Experience in Kafka and Redis.
Database Administration Tasks-
  • Manage and optimize AWS databases, including RDS, Postgres, Aurora, and Redshift.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
  • Ensure database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
Cross-Functional Tasks-
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to design scalable and efficient database solutions.
  • Automate database and application workflows using AWS tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across both application and database layers.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience with AWS services, including both development and database solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Node.js.
  • Expertise in SQL and database optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture best practices and DevOps principles.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Database Specialty) are highly desirable.
