Job Details

Leidos is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide Post Production Software Support (PPSS) and Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) engineering and technical services for the CECOM IEW&S Directorate Sensors and Mission Division (SMED).

This role is based in Aberdeen, MD, supporting operations at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Successful candidates will deliver systems and network solutions, technical services, and subject matter expertise across multiple Army sensor platforms, including:
  • Long-Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3)
  • Biometric Automated Toolset Army (BAT-A)
  • Second Generation Forward Looking Infrared (SGF)
  • Guardrail Common Sensor (GRCS)
  • Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS)
  • Small Tactical Radar Lightweight (STARLite)
  • Aerial Sensors Suite of Systems

This support is critical to maintaining readiness for today's modern platform sensor systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage, maintain, and update networks and servers across intelligence-gathering platforms.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade servers, networks, and lab infrastructure devices.
  • Provide software and network support for laptops, desktops, and printers, including hardware configuration and software testing.
  • Design network structures and recommend hardware/software procurement to sustain lab operations.
  • Monitor system configurations, server event logs, and performance metrics.
  • Test operating systems, networking software, and hardware components.
  • Develop and execute server backup procedures and monitor backup requirements.
  • Implement and maintain security patching across networks and systems.
  • Maintain accurate system recovery documentation reflecting infrastructure changes.
  • Recommend and manage electrical and network load balancing within lab environments.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience; Associate's degree with 7+ years of experience; or 9+ years of experience without a degree.
  • Active IAT Level II DoD 8570 Baseline Certification (e.g., Security+ce).
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, and Unix/Windows system administration.
  • Experience with vCenter Server Appliances, ESXi Hosts, Linux, and Windows OS/tools.
  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and managing switches/VLANs.
  • VMware experience (VCenter, VMotion).
  • Experience managing Security Groups, User Profiles, and Shared Drives in Windows Server.
  • NetApp, iDRAC, and PowerChute configuration/management experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within matrixed teams.
  • Understanding of the full software lifecycle in military systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active TS or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Familiarity with CECOM SEC PDSS & PPSS processes.
  • Experience with Army aerial and terrestrial sensor systems.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Edge Quality Management System.
  • Experience configuring/sustaining WSUS patching cycles and remediation.
  • Image creation and distribution experience.
  • Experience with CCB documentation submission and origination.
  • Skills in reserve inventory requirements gathering and management.
