Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving clear and concise documentation for our software products, APIs, and internal tools. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts, to ensure our documentation meets the needs of various audiences-from developers to end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather and understand technical information.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive, user-friendly documentation for software applications, APIs, and internal systems.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Edit, proofread, and review documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, grammar, and adherence to style guidelines.
- Structure and organize content in a logical and accessible manner, ensuring alignment with branding and documentation standards.
- Oversee documentation projects end-to-end, including version control, updates, and cross-functional coordination.
- Conduct user research, gather feedback, and perform usability testing to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of documentation.
- Ensure timely delivery of documentation deliverables in alignment with product release cycles and project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a technical writer in a software development or technology-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycles and technical concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, Git, or similar.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with API documentation and familiarity with developer tools is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
