Sr Fortinet Engineer
Job Details
A tech services company is actively seeking a new Senior Fortinet Engineer to join their team. In this role, the Senior Fortinet Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting secure network solutions across a complex healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain Fortinet security infrastructure across multiple healthcare locations
- Manage and optimize FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, and advanced threat protection systems
- Administer FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized policy control and log analysis
- Support network segmentation, secure remote access, and incident response efforts
- Collaborate with internal and client-side IT teams to implement best practices and resolve complex issues
- Monitor performance, assess vulnerabilities, and recommend enhancements to strengthen security posture
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, NIST, and other healthcare security standards
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering or Security Engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
- Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and routing/switching
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or healthcare networks
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment with minimal supervision
Desired Skills:
- Fortinet NSE 4 (or higher) certification
- Experience with healthcare IT systems and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH)
- Familiarity with other security platforms or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
