Overview
The Combat Weapons Systems (CWS) Facility Management Group is responsible for development and maintenance of hotel services provided within all of the CWS laboratory facilities. This includes collecting requirements from Lab and Integration teams to validate requirements and working with EB facilities, EB security, government contractors etc. to implement them. In this position the candidate will be a Test Engineer and will perform duties as a D448 Lab Manager.
The candidate will support technical resolutions for a variety of complex construction issues for VIRGINIA & COLUMBIA Class Submarines. This job will require investigation/evaluation of units and modules under various stages of construction. The majority of work will be centered on supporting system operational testing, test execution, and evaluation of results while maintaining a prototypical hardware and software development lab. You will work with system engineers, deck plate technicians, government program offices, vendors and military personnel for delivered submarines in support of engineering efforts that will extend to the analysis and resolution of fleet identified problems, assessment of obsolescence issues, and implementation of modernization programs.
The candidate will be responsible for working with facilities and vendors to perform repairs and normal maintenance on AC, power and other aspects of a protypical lab. Additionally, working with EB Security to ensure physical security policies are being met for the building. This includes tasks like communicating to EB Fire to disable sensors floor tiles to complete a job; working with EB IT to have new network or power drops installed within an area of a lab; ensuring the proper security markings are placed on items being shipped out of the building; arranging pickup and drop off of equipment with EB transportation and other vendors used; organizing and completing material sightings required for Special Property requirements.
The candidate will provide status reports and metrics to management and/or the customer as needed. They will develop status and analyze department specific integrated project schedules to support task planning, identify conflicts and support status efforts to help ensure timely project completion.
This position may require an occasional 2nd shift depending on department needs, approximately 3 - 5 times per year.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a technical field
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering, Facilities
- U.S. Military Service
- Prior deck plate construction experience, EB construction support experience
- Facilities Management experience
- Familiarity with Electronic Desktop (7G, Work Orders, ELCADD, ERS, etc.)
Skills
- Ability to obtain Secret level clearance
- Self-motivated with the ability to think objectively and drive technical solutions to successful conclusion
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering life-cycle and standards
- Candidates must be highly motivated team players.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to present technical/programmatic content to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to perform typical schedule integrity checks and critical path analysis.
