Command Center Engineer - Level II – Overnight Shift (Onsite in Plano, TX)

Compensation: Up to $125K DOE
Direct-Hire | Fully Onsite | Overnight Shift | Newly Created Role

 

Our client, a prominent company in the hospitality development sector, is seeking a Command Center Engineer - Level II to join their team onsite in Plano, TX. This is an overnight shift role designed for professionals with a broad technical background in systems and basic networking, ideally suited for candidates who consider themselves generalists with hands-on troubleshooting expertise across Windows or Linux environments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Monitor and maintain the performance and stability of enterprise-level infrastructure including systems, servers, and network connectivity.
  • Respond to and resolve system and network alerts and incidents in real-time—overnight coverage critical.
  • Troubleshoot OS-level issues on Windows or Linux servers—including services down, system reboots, and general performance problems.
  • Perform light Linux or Windows server patching, resolve disk space issues, and manage event/ticket workflows.
  • Address and troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (IP conflicts, latency, server-switch issues, DNS resolution).
  • Utilize tools for event handling, status checks, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure identity-level security administration, including access setup and basic permissions management.
  • Collaborate with Level 1 and Senior Engineers to resolve incidents and escalate as needed.
  • Contribute to and follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and participate in continuous learning.

 

Day in the Life (Estimated Breakdown):

  • 75% – Event handling & ticket remediation across infrastructure (e.g., disk space alerts, service failures).
  • 15% – SOP development, documentation, and training.
  • 10% – Administrative and coordination tasks.
  • Support spans both corporate and property-level infrastructure across the enterprise.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5–7 years of IT operations experience in a Command Center/NOC or similar environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge with either Windows or Linux server administration (troubleshooting, patching, service support).
  • Experience with basic networking (IP addressing, connectivity, pings, trace routes).
  • Generalist mindset with broad tech exposure across systems and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Basic understanding of identity management, patches, and system access control.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools and enterprise ticketing systems.
  • Comfortable working an overnight shift and available for occasional off-hours support during critical incidents.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain/maintain certifications as required by law or policy.

 

Bonus Points For:

  • Strong experience in Linux or Windows (ideally at least one candidate strong in Linux).
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
  • Exposure to monitoring platforms like ITRS/Geneos.
  • Familiarity with Azure, storage systems (light exposure), and scripting for automation.
