Job Details
Radiance Technologies is seeking a software engineering intern for an upcoming project under the DARPA Simulating Microbial Systems (SMS) initiative. The intern will support the development, testing, and application of machine-learning models to the modeling and simulation of an Eschericia coli bacterium cell. Specific subtasks will be assigned in support of this objective and may include data analysis, data collection, algorithm design, software implementation, experiment design, testing and evaluation, and progress reporting.
Internships are expected to start in conjunction with the SMS in June and last for eighteen months with the option of continuing for the project's duration. The internship can extend through academic quarters and breaks, provided the student's coursework allows.
Requirements:
Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student working towards degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or relevant technical field
Minimum 3.5 GPA (Please list your GPA on your resume to be considered)
Classroom level experience programming in Python
Basic understanding of algorithm design, data structures, and computational complexity
Completed coursework related to calculus
ship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with C++
Experience with Linux operating systems
Experience with PyTorch
Experience with Git
Experience with high-performance computing environments
Coursework in advanced mathematics topics including differential equations
Coursework in relevant subjects including biology and physics
Classroom level experience in developing and training artificial-intelligence / machine-learning models
