Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in backend automation, API testing, and working with Cassandra databases. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with tools such as Karate, RestAssured, and Postman, as well as solid development skills in Java.

This role requires on-site presence in Cincinnati, OH for 4 days per week, working closely with cross[1]functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks for backend services and APIs.

Write and execute automated test cases using Java, Karate, RestAssured, and Postman.

Develop and execute tests interacting with Cassandra databases, ensuring data consistency and performance.

Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and QA to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of automation strategy.

Document technical details, test plans, and test cases in Confluence.

Track defects and test progress using Jira.

Work closely with product and engineering teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in backend test automation or SDET roles.

Proficiency in Java programming.

Hands-on experience with Karate, RestAssured, and Postman for API testing.

Experience working with Cassandra NoSQL databases.

Understanding and experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, and backend service architecture.

Experience with CI/CD tools, especially GitHub and GitHub Actions.

Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and containerized environments.

Strong knowledge of Jira and Confluence for collaboration and documentation.
