The Director, Solutions Engineering is responsible for leading the strategic direction, design, and implementation of associate technology at Humana, focused on computing and mobility solutions. This role will require a deep understanding of modern workplace technology and the digital employee experience.
The Director, Systems Engineering is responsible for the oversight of multiple systems and projects, including device management, virtualization, and automation technologies. This position will also be accountable for the implementations of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and oversee and evaluate system security, privacy, and backup processes.
This role will be an instrumental part of the departmental leadership team for our Associate Technology Experience group. They will partner closely with senior leadership and peers across Architecture, Product Management, Support Services, and Experience & Design.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$189,400 - $260,500 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of Systems Engineering ITIL experience in design, analysis, configuration, and maintenance of complex systems software solutions and infrastructure.
- 5+ years of formal leadership of a highly skilled technology organization including large, multi-functional teams in agile portfolios/programs including Kanban, JIRA, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience designing and implementing highly scalable physical and virtual management systems and controls leveraging products including Citrix DaaS, JAMF Pro, Microsoft Configuration Manager, and Microsoft Intune.
- Experience in configuration and migration of services within distributed, Cloud-Based and On-Premises environments including Google Cloud Platform, AWS and Azure.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, risk management and information security processes including SOC, CIS, NIST, HIPAA and PCI.
- Demonstrated effective influence of senior level management and key partners, with an ability to communicate abstract concepts to diverse audiences through graphic presentations, verbally, and in writing.
- Outstanding collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills with ability to facilitate technology strategy, requirements, and architecture conversations with all partners (management, business users, and technology resources).
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge managing large, complex initiatives in a results-driven environment, and accountability of deadlines and value propositions.
- Self-starter who thrives in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
- 10+ years combined hands-on engineering and architecture experience (TOGAF) with public and private cloud, distributed computing, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and custom developed solutions.
- Diverse and deep experience creating strategic roadmaps, reference architecture and engineering artifacts.
- Expertise working with user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Remote/WAH requirements:
- WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
- Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
