Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a qualified college intern candidate with background in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, and/or software engineering.
THE WORK
In this important role, you will be helping to:
Create and evaluate system design concepts, architectures, and prototypes to meet customer requirements
Define and develop system requirements and architecture
Support system integration and test to verify and validate system functionality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system design and integration

Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree program in a relevant engineering discipline. Including systems, electrical, computer, mechanical or software engineering
Basic knowledge of systems engineering principles, including system design and development as well as system integration and testing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent team-work skills with the ability to collaborate on and communicate complex technical information
Desired skills
Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies, such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), System Engineering Life Cycle, etc.
Familiarity with engineering design and development tools such as modeling and simulation software (MATLAB, Simulink, etc.), design and architecture tools (Solidworks, Creo, Visio, DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.), and collaborative platforms (Git, Jira, etc.)
Previous internship or other hands on experience in a related engineering discipline
Basic understanding of software development practices and previous software development experience

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
