SAP ABAP Consultant

Odyssey is working with a large airline to find an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant with OData experience. This is a long-term contract role and will be remote, but will require occasional travel to Dallas, TX.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of SAP HANA database concepts including performance tuning and SQL Script for data-intensive operations.

Experience in modern ABAP programming using Eclipse-based ABAP development tools.

• OData Services:
• Knowledge of creating and consuming OData services using SAP Gateway.
• Experience in exposing SAP ECC data via OData for integration with external platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize OData performance.
• Expertise in change data capture and how to leverage delta tokens for incremental data extraction.
• Experience in exposing CDS views as OData services and managing delta queries through ODP.
• Experience in designing and implementing services using RAP
• Experience testing OData services using Postman

• API Management & Integration:
• Proficiency in working with RESTful APIs and SOAP services.
• Experience in working with cloud/ 3rd party vendors for integration from SAP.
• ABAP for Integration:
• Skills in developing custom RFCs, BAPIs, and IDOCs for integration purposes.
• Ability to enhance standard ECC functionalities to support integration needs.
• SAP Fiori interface development and integration with backend systems

• Source-to-Pay (S2P):
• Experience integrating ECC with procurement platforms like Ariba or Coupa.
• Understanding of master and transaction data synchronization (e.g., vendor, material).

Security Skills:

• Security Protocols:
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization frameworks, such as OAuth 2.0 and SAML.
• Experience with identity and access management tools, such as Ping Identity (PING) or similar solutions.
• Proficiency in secure data exchange protocols (e.g., HTTPS, SFTP) and encryption methods.
• Event-Driven Architecture:
• Knowledge of event-driven integration patterns .
• Familiarity with IDoc s, change pointers for event based architectures.

Functional & Business Skills:

• Business Process Understanding:
• Knowledge of ECC processes in Finance, Procurement, and Billing, and their mapping to BRIM or S2P systems.
• Ability to work with functional teams to define integration requirements.
• Ability to design end to end solutions within S4 ecosystem
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Change Management & Testing:
• Skills in conducting impact analysis and regression testing for integrations.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools like Panaya or Tricentis.
