Description:
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Our client, a global manufacturing leader, is seeking a talented Product Development Manager to join their team near Canfield, Ohio. The Product Development Manager will be responsible for leading the development of new manufacturing solutions and improving existing product lines. This role involves managing projects from initial concept through to commercial launch, ensuring that all new products meet stringent quality standards and market demands. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent project management skills, and a commitment to driving innovation in a collaborative setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage product development projects from ideation through commercialization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and sales, to define product requirements and ensure successful project execution.
  • Conduct research on new materials, technologies, and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Develop detailed product specifications, designs, and testing protocols.
  • Oversee product testing, validation, and pilot runs to ensure performance, quality, and compliance.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for existing products and processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Ensure all product development activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate project status and technical findings to stakeholders at all levels.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product development or R&D within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading product development projects from concept to launch.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adapt to changing priorities.
