Position Overview:
We are seeking a mid-senior level Application Support Engineer with a strong background in Java-based enterprise applications, Linux/Unix environments, and ITIL processes. The role demands solid experience supporting critical production systems in a fast-paced financial services environment.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time conversion, offering a chance to work on mission-critical platforms and contribute to automation, monitoring, and support strategy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Respond to and resolve critical application alerts and production defects quickly and accurately, minimizing downtime.
Verify root cause analysis from team members and recommend permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement code deployments and vendor application upgrades.
Support Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution, including evidence generation for Business Continuity Management (BCM).
Keep runbooks and knowledge base articles up-to-date in collaboration with application development teams.
Handle audit requests by validating and submitting required documentation and responses.
Identify opportunities to automate application monitoring and reduce manual intervention.
Participate in early-stage design feedback with developers to ensure production readiness.
