Duration: 3-year contract Extensions Possible

Reports to: URI Workday Integration Lead

Position Summary

The University of Rhode Island (URI) is seeking a remote Workday Integration Developer to support the development, testing, and deployment of integrations between Workday, PeopleSoft, and other URI enterprise applications. This hands-on technical role reports to the URI Workday Integration Lead and is responsible for designing, building, and supporting integration solutions using Workday s suite of integration technologies. The ideal candidate has experience with ERP systems in higher education, proficiency with Workday and PeopleSoft platforms, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy integrations between Workday, PeopleSoft, and other URI enterprise systems.
  • Use Workday integration technologies, including Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Collaborate with URI business, functional, and technical stakeholders to gather integration requirements and deliver solutions that meet URI needs.
  • Perform data mapping, transformation, and error handling for inbound and outbound integrations.
  • Assist with integration troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ongoing support.
  • Participate in integration testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for integration processes, interfaces, and workflows.
  • Support cutover and post-go-live integration activities as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing integrations for ERP/HCM/Finance systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Workday integration tools (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, web services).
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft data structures, integration methods, and ERP concepts.
  • Experience working in or with higher education environments.
  • Proficiency in XML, XSLT, and data transformation techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fully remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Workday and/or PeopleSoft implementation experience.
  • Experience with additional middleware/integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Dell Boomi, MuleSoft).
  • Experience supporting integrations in higher education or public sector environments.
