Job Title: Technical Support Technician I
Location: New Carlisle, IN (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)
Schedule: Monday Friday, Day Shift (40 hours/week)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Technical Support Technician I to provide end-user support across a variety of technical issues. The role involves troubleshooting, documenting, and resolving problems, as well as supporting hardware and networking equipment installations. Candidates should have a background in IT technical support, strong fiber optics and cabling knowledge, and experience with hardware troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level support via phone, email, and in-person requests.
- Identify, research, and resolve hardware and technical issues.
- Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution.
- Support installation and troubleshooting of fiber optic cabling (MTP, MPO).
- Work on hardware troubleshooting including switches (Cisco, Juniper).
- Follow standard operating procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and escalate complex issues when needed.
Requirements:
- Experience: 1+ years in IT technical support or related role.
Technical Skills:
- Fiber optics and cabling (MTP, MPO) must have.
- IT technical background with troubleshooting knowledge.
- Hardware troubleshooting with Cisco and Juniper switches.
Education/Certifications:
- Not required (Associate s degree preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
Preferred Qualities:
- Strong initiative and bias for action.
- Ability to dive deep into technical problems and resolve efficiently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Information:
- This role is onsite only (no remote option).
- Overtime is not anticipated.
