Azure Cloud Architecture - Native Application Development

Location: Remote (US)

Job Description:

Experience: 15+ years with a minimum of 8 years in Azure Cloud Architecture - Native Application Development and rollout

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a comprehensive technical assessment of the Azure cloud environment supporting a cloud-native healthcare platform.

  • Extensive hands-on experience in Azure cloud assessment, with a focus on rollout readiness and Azure platform support, demonstrated through a minimum of four completed projects.

  • Proven experience assessing/designing scalable, secure, and compliant architectures for cloud-native (microservices, containerized) applications (AKS, Azure App Services, Service Bus, API Management, etc.).

  • Evaluate architecture design for scalability, fault-tolerance, performance, and multi-region support.

  • Review Infrastructure as Code (IaC) involving Terraform, AzAPI, and Azure DevOps pipelines for best practices, modularity, automation, and security/compliance controls.

  • Hands-on expertise with Terraform, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and automation for cloud environments.

  • Assess Kubernetes deployments (AKS), containerization strategy, networking, and integration of Microsoft Fabric analytics/data services.

  • Review implementation of Azure security controls: Policy as Code, Azure Policy, RBAC, identity management, encryption standards, Key Vault usage, and compliance with FDA/ISO 27001/HIPAA/MDR.

  • Identify architectural gaps in cloud architecture, firewall, load balancing, high availability, and security.

  • Analyze real-time data flows, AI/ML pipelines, and integration with Microsoft Fabric/data lake analytics.

  • Assess monitoring, logging, backup/HA/DR, and cost management practices (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, cost optimization).

  • Understand deployment, automation, incident response, and regulatory evidence generation.

  • Deliver clear, actionable reports: gap analysis, risk register, architecture diagrams, compliance scorecard, and prioritized recommendations.

  • Excellent communicator with a track record of producing technical audit reports and presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Present findings and remediation strategies.

  • Life Science domain experience is essential.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)

  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, HITRUST, or similar certification is an added advantage
