Title Platform Engineer Architect
Location Alpharetta / NY ( Hybrid 2-3 days onsite)
Duration: 12+ months contract
Key responsibilities:
Create and govern infrastructure platform catalog
Enforce architectural patterns and standards
Resiliency design and failure domain definitions
Develop infrastructure design solutions in collaboration with CPS core engg team
Leverage SRE organization embedded in application teams to scale for the PEA (Platform Engg & Architecture) charter
Skillsets
Platform Architecture design and engineering practices including but not limited to
o Host platforms: Webfarm, Treadmill, MKS (Morgan Kubernetes)
o Compute: VM, Containers, Serverless
o Storage: Object, File
o Databases: SQL, No-SQL, Time-series
o Messaging: Kafka, MQ
o Observability: Logs, Metrics, Traces
o Security: Authentication, Secrets, Audit Trails
o Networking: Ingress, Services Mesh, DNS

What to evaluate:
Expertise in compute (VMs, containers, serverless)
Deep understanding of storage, networking, messaging, databases
Proficiency with Kubernetes, especially internal variants like MKS
Experience with platform tooling (e.g., Terraform, CI/CD, service mesh)

Ability to create scalable, resilient platform designs
Understanding of failure domains, HA, DR, multi-region architecture
Experience enforcing architectural patterns across teams

Use of Terraform, Helm, or similar tools for IaC
Building and maintaining reusable modules and templates
