Description
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, leveraging Python and Databricks to build and optimize data pipelines. This role is based in Houston, Texas, and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and Databricks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define data requirements.
Implement and optimize algorithms for data processing and analytics.
Design and deploy data models that support efficient querying and data visualization.
Leverage cloud technologies, including AWS, to enhance data infrastructure.
Integrate and manage data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka.
Utilize Apache Spark and Hadoop for large-scale data processing tasks.
Create and maintain APIs to support seamless data access and integration.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in data workflows and pipelines.
Requirements
Proficiency in Python and experience working with Databricks.
Strong knowledge of data streaming tools such as Apache Kafka.
Expertise in big data frameworks, including Apache Spark and Hadoop.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
Background in implementing algorithms for data analytics.
Understanding of API development and integration.
Knowledge of additional tools such as Apache Pig is a plus.
