Job Details:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Weld Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This permanent role will focus on the development, implementation, and improvement of welding techniques, procedures, and applications. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the production process, ensuring all welding operations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement advanced welding procedures and techniques to improve the efficiency and quality of welding operations.
2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure all welding operations comply with ISO 9000 standards.
3. Use CAD software to design and develop large assemblies and weldments.
4. Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve welding issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
5. Conduct training sessions for welding personnel to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest welding techniques and safety procedures.
6. Collaborate with the design team to ensure the manufacturability of designs and to optimize the welding process.
7. Continually evaluate and improve welding processes and procedures to reduce costs and improve productivity.
8. Ensure all welding equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
9. Work in compliance with all safety rules and regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a welding engineering role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
4. Proficient in the use of CAD software for the design and development of large assemblies and weldments.
5. Extensive knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and their application in a welding environment.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex welding issues.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and mentor others.
8. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
9. Strong commitment to safety and quality.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
