Field Service Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Replace defective parts, reassemble and repair batteries and related equipment
• Install new equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality per specifications
• Provide on-site technical assistance for troubleshooting and repairs
• Maintain accurate records including service reports, expense reports, quality alerts, and maintenance logs
• Operate material handling equipment in compliance with OSHA standards
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Adhere to company policies and procedures including warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards
• Interact professionally with internal teams and external customers
• Conduct training sessions on safe equipment operation for team members and customers
• Serve as a communication link between the customer and company to ensure effective service delivery
• Provide high-quality service to ensure customer satisfaction
• Function independently without direct supervision
• Responsible for company assets including service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Technical Aptitude: Basic mechanical skills; experience with hand and power tools
• Electrical Knowledge: Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic fields
• Math & Comprehension: Ability to perform basic math and solve simple equations
• Communication: Proficient in reading and writing English documents
• Technical Experience: Hands-on experience in an electrical-related field
• Equipment Proficiency: Use of test equipment and ability to read schematics

Travel & Work Conditions

• Must be willing to travel overnight as needed
• Must be available for on-call duties
• Must be able to operate a forklift
• Work occurs in plant/warehouse environments with varying conditions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch
• Must be able to differentiate colors
• Lift up to 50 pounds (23 kilos) regularly; heavier lifting with assistance
• Stand for extended periods
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times

Location

• Service coverage within a 100-mile radius
• Work based at central offices/data centers

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashburn, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
