Title: Azure Data Architect
Location: San Antonio, TX (Remote - Only Location)
Duration: Contract Position Position Summary

Our client is seeking to add a Data Architect to our Analytics & Innovation Organization. A Data Architect will be responsible for designing data infrastructure to extract and organize data into our enterprise Insights & Discovery Platform for authorized decision makers with self-service access to access. This team will partner heavily with the Business Partner IT (Information Technology) teams and Analytics and Innovation Organization teams such as Solution Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Science, and Business Intelligence teams as we design an end-to-end data analytics solution. This is an exciting opportunity to expand our Data & Analytics capabilities leveraging the Microsoft Azure Data Analytics solutions. This role will involve Data Modeling and Architecture with an enterprise focus, which will further enable our Data Driven culture.
Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into data models within our enterprise Insight & Discovery platform
  • Collaborate with and influence solution architects, data engineers & delivery teams to adopt enterprise data architecture specifications in solutions
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysis and collaborate with the Business Intelligence team and business data analysts on data consumption requirements.
  • Utilize data preparation, integration, storage & analytics tools within the Azure landscape
  • Audit data warehouse regularly to maintain data quality
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics
  • Aid in the analysis of data and analytics security requirements and solutions
  • Partner with Data Governance teams on data catalog maintenance and usage
  • Make recommendations for Master Data Management domains and data sharing across the enterprise

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of diversified information technology experience, including a minimum of 4 years experience with information systems (IT) architecture.
  • Working experience with Data Governance toolsets, Data Warehouse schemas, Data Modeling, Data Security, including a minimum of several years of experience with Erwin platform as an enterprise data modeling tool.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable of Metadata Management, Data Literacy, Data Quality Management, and Master Data Management concepts
  • Excellent communication skills Microsoft SQL experience including data warehouse and OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) concepts.
  • Entity Relationship modeling, data quality tools and techniques.
  • Batch data ingestion (ETL, ELT) and real-time data processing (CDC) experience desired.
  • Cloud platform certifications are a plus, e.g., Microsoft Azure.
  • Expertise in developing and deploying analytics solutions on cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure (Data Lakes, Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse).
  • Familiarity with DevOps, Agile, Scrum, and ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) is a plus.
  • Basic working functional knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA and various modules is a plus.
