Title- Helix ITSM Developer- Remedy

Location- Remote

Duration- 6+ Months

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Helix ITSM Developer with a strong background in application development, testing, data migration, and Kafka connector setup within BMC Helix environments. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AR System Development, CMDB and Foundation Data Management, Oracle SQL/PLSQL, and have experience working in Kubernetes clusters. This role requires hands-on experience in setting up and managing Helix environments, developing custom applications, integrating APIs, and ensuring smooth PROD cutovers with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Set up and configure BMC Helix ITSM 23.x environment.
  2. Perform development and migration of AR System workflows and applications.
  3. Setup Kafka Connector Server and manage Kafka Topics/Data Flows.
  4. Perform 3-way reconciliation of workflow components and resolve conflicts.
  5. Manage and load Foundation Data; develop and maintain CMDB.
  6. Develop database objects, stored procedures, and automation scripts (Oracle SQL/PLSQL).
  7. Actively synchronize DDL and migrate test data (1-month-old records).
  8. Support DEV & UAT2 Clusters, firewall configurations, and Kafka connector setup.
  9. Troubleshoot ARS installation and configuration issues within Kubernetes clusters.
  10. Setup and configure custom plugins and identify EMA configuration changes.
  11. Create queries and dashboards using Helix Dashboards and Grafana.
  12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for PROD cutovers and DR planning.

Optional Skills:

Screening Questions (Must be addressed):

  1. Have you worked on ARS/ITSM and Smart Reporting/Dashboard installations or migrations in Kubernetes?
  2. Describe your experience with data migration using HDM. What challenges did you face moving from local DB to Kubernetes DB?
  3. Explain your PROD cutover approach to ensure minimal downtime (under 30 minutes).
  4. What are the common issues encountered when merging custom ARS applications between different versions (e.g., 20.02 to 25.01)?
  5. Describe your architecture-level approach for setting up DR for Helix ITSM in a Kubernetes environment.
  6. Share how you troubleshoot ARS application installation issues in a Kubernetes cluster.

Development Activities Overview (CTEC - Remedy Helix ITSM Cluster):

  1. Helix 23.x setup, migration, and development.
  2. Workflow reconciliation and CMDB/Foundation data alignment.
  3. Kafka Connector Server administration.
  4. Weekly DDL synchronization and test data migration.
  5. EMA & plugin configuration management across environments.
  6. Custom plugin server deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of hands-on development in BMC Helix/Remedy environment
  2. Experience in Kubernetes-based Helix ITSM installations and configurations
  3. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
