RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Fully Remote Cybersecurity Engineer.
Position Summary:
The Cybersecurity Engineer will drive Application Security Engineering and DevSecOps practices across multiple repositories, supporting advanced secure code scanning, AI model integration, and vulnerability remediation. This role requires a strong background in application security, offensive testing, and cross-functional collaboration within a financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead Application Security Engineering initiatives and implement DevSecOps best practices
* Manage and optimize secure code scanning tools, including GitHub Advanced Security
* Integrate AI models into applications while developing and maintaining security guardrails
* Conduct static and interactive code scanning across multiple repositories to identify vulnerabilities and reduce false positives
* Collaborate with developers to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure secure application design
* Perform basic offensive security tasks, including penetration testing and Linux-based assessments
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
* Relevant security certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CEH, or similar)
* Minimum 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with strong emphasis on application security
* Expertise in Secure code scanning tools and vulnerability management
* Expertise in OWASP and SANS security standards
* Expertise in Offensive security practices and penetration testing
* Expertise in Linux-based environments
* Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
* Financial services industry experience strongly preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
