Job Details

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • 7+ years as a DBA with hands-on RDBMS experience (DDL, DML, TCL).

  • 3+ years experience in mainframe data modernization.

  • Strong experience with Windows, Linux, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

  • Good understanding of z/OS, IMS, VSAM, JCL, COBOL.

  • SQL optimization and performance tuning expertise.

Role Summary:

As a Data Migration Engineer, you will work on modernizing legacy mainframe databases by extracting, mapping, and importing data into modern cloud or on-premise RDBMS systems. You ll play a crucial role in data transformation, performance tuning, and tool optimization during large-scale migrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with migration teams to resolve code/data issues.

  • Convert legacy DB structures (Adabas, IDMS, VSAM, DB2 z/OS) into SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.

  • Analyze, validate, and load customer data into new environments.

  • Perform root cause analysis and document defects.

  • Configure and populate databases on Linux/Windows/cloud platforms.

  • Recommend solutions using cloud DBMS services.

  • Share tool performance insights with R&D teams.

  • Conduct database performance tuning and runtime optimizations.

  • Mentor team members on technical challenges.
