RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Systems Engineer 1 in San Antonio, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
* Under general supervision, collaborate with IT/OT and business teams to ensure that hybrid cloud infrastructure, servers, storage, operating systems, and infrastructure applications are operational, secure, patched, upgraded, and documented in alignment with business requirements and operational standards
* Manage projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery through coordination with cross-functional teams including Data Center Operations, Network Technology, Collaboration Services, Security, Service Desk, Application Support, and End Users
* Provide incident resolution, performance and capacity management, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support 24/7 production systems
* Maintain system metrics and enhance tools for monitoring, incident resolution, and proactive issue prevention
* Ensure documentation is complete and auditable for configurations, upgrades, testing, and compliance with relevant standards
* Configure, implement, and manage servers in hybrid cloud environments including hyperconverged, cloud, and physical infrastructure
* Manage virtual platforms and multiple operating systems
* Configure and manage tiered and virtualized storage environments
* Implement and manage desktop virtualization technologies
* Apply backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data protection and availability
* Ensure platform security in accordance with organizational IT security and compliance standards
* Provide high availability support and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
* Respond to performance alerts and proactively analyze performance data to identify and resolve issues
* Provide second- and third-level support for mission-critical systems
* Perform complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and implement solutions
* Automate system administration tasks using scripting
REQUIREMENTS:
* Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience/certifications in hybrid cloud administration
* Experience in IT systems and storage administration
* Experience with enterprise-level storage solutions
* Technical expertise in desktop virtualization technologies
* Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux system administration
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Strong collaboration skills across organizational boundaries
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certifications in cloud, server, Linux, or storage technologies
* Solid foundation in Cloud Infrastructure; Hyperconverged Infrastructure; Windows and/or UNIX Virtualization; System Programming; Enterprise-class backup platforms
* Familiarity with compliance standards such as NIST, CMMC, or similar
* Knowledge of ERP systems
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
