Business Analyst

What does a successful Business Analyst do? At Fiserv, a successful Business Analyst solves technology information systems problems by analyzing requirements and existing systems, and designing computer programs. Often acting as the interface between the business and technology functions, they work to understand the overall business needs, create a business case, and define technical requirements. Our Business Analysts employ planning, stakeholder analysis, risk assessment, organizational analysis, interface analysis, writing skills, and user experience to ensure the success of technological implementations.

What you will do:

  • Analyze and document business requirements and lead sessions with diverse audiences across the organization.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Perform planning, stakeholder analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Conduct organizational and interface analysis.
  • Develop and recommend system controls and protocols to streamline and improve business processes.
  • Write and execute SQL queries against Oracle databases.
  • Gather business requirements, particularly around Loan Accounting systems.


What you will need to have:

  • 4+ years of progressively responsible business design experience.
  • 4+ years of experience documenting business requirements and leading sessions with diverse organizational audiences.
  • 4+ years of experience writing and executing SQL queries against Oracle databases.
  • 4+ years of experience gathering business requirements for Loan Accounting systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and/or equivalent military experience.


What would be great to have:

  • Background in software development.
  • Knowledge and experience in the financial industry, particularly within the student loan industry.
  • Experience with Agile software development concepts.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
