RESPONSIBILITIES:
A client of Kforce's in Golden, Colorado (CO) is hiring for a Digital Accessibility Specialist.

Summary:
The client is looking for candidates who bring proven, specialized experience from related businesses or organizations as well as system integration and technology experience. Expertise could include various technologies and roles, including SME in product and software or functional areas. Candidates must live and work within Colorado. The Specialist will use a variety of manual and automated techniques to ensure that documents comply, at a minimum, with all applicable accessibility criteria.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Using Adobe Acrobat, CommonLook, and similar tools to remediate PDF documents in order to ensure compliance with accessibility standards; Ensure that complex documents meet or exceed all applicable standards; Other document remediation assignments could include web pages, Microsoft Office documents
* Using assistive technologies, such as screen readers (such as JAWS, Narrator, or NVDA), to manually ensure that document experiences are equitable and functional
* Support and fulfill accessibility accommodation requests from external stakeholders
* Track and report on progress and activities related to document remediation
* Monitor and review updated or new accessibility and document standards as appropriate
* Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
* Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe as well as the ability to quickly learn and apply other software skills
* Software: Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:
* 4-6 years of experience using Adobe Acrobat/Pro and Microsoft Office
* Experience authoring and remediating documents for accessibility which includes experience auditing documents for accessibility compliance
* Software: CommonLook PDF or other document remediation tools; Screen Readers (JAWS, NVDA, Narrator, etc.) and other assistive technology used for manual accessibility testing
* Knowledge of accessibility standards such as Section 508, WCAG, PDF/UA
* Strong communication, organization, time management, prioritization, and collaboration skills
* Demonstrated ability to independently identify and analyze issues and develop appropriate solutions and plans of action
* Strong attention to technical detail

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
