About this Position

The data architect will help build Primerica's strategy and data architecture focusing on cloud data modernization efforts. They will manage and guide a data engineering team on cloud data strategies, including reporting & analytics. They are considered a subject matter expert in data modeling, data planning, and cloud data migration and transformation strategies.

100% Remote

Salary: Up to $170K

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Advise and Advocate for Cloud Data Architecture, Governance and Strategy
  • will advise the enterprise our strategy for a modern cloud data implementation
  • creation and evaluation of data warehouses vs marts vs lakes vs other storages
  • evaluate vendors and products in the marketplace and make recommendations
  • Help the business and IT make decisions that align with Primerica's data architecture, governance and strategy

Contribute to the design and development of enterprise data models and integrations
  • collaborate with business owners and architects to understand and document functional and technical requirements needed to define enterprise data models
  • lead the development of pipelines needed in support of enterprise data model implementations
  • set quality gates for business rule acceptance
  • marketing, education, onboarding and publication of these models and enterprise data sets

Provide data architecture expertise for proposals and other business development efforts
  • Use expertise in data architecture and integration to review proposals and provide feedback and analysis
  • Advise fitness of business development efforts to enterprise and cloud data strategies

Consults with clients to assess current problem states, define desired future states, define data architecture and make solution recommendations
  • work with the business and others to define where our current problems are
  • build reports/recommendations for future state solution
  • make recommendations and present those to the stakeholders

Leads reporting & analytics team of administrators and developers
  • leads reporting & analytics team, providing necessary direction related to Primerica enterprise reporting strategy
  • ability to have difficult conversations with employees to gain proper behavior
  • gives appropriate team member feedback that is timely and actionable

Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of building enterprise data lakes, data warehouses and data marts
  • Knowledge of multiple SQL and NoSQL technologies
