Job Description:
Virginia Peninsula Community College is a two-year institution of higher education established as a part of a statewide system of community colleges. It primarily serves the residents of the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, and the counties of James City and York.
Provide and maintain state-of-the-art information technologies for all campuses and remote locations of the College.
Provide for the day-to-day operations of Virginia Peninsula Community College's technology infrastructure and services and provide technological assistance to customers and information technology staff in the event of operational problems or questions relating to the use of all computer systems, any supported software applications/packages, and all related IT services. Serves as a skilled Systems Engineer with strong experience in managing and maintaining enterprise-level IT infrastructure. Proficiency in administration of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Defender XDR, SharePoint, Intune, Configuration Manager, Windows Server 2022, and VMware. Exhibits exceptional proficiency in cybersecurity compliance and security monitoring. Experience in network management.

Minimum Qualifications:
Considerable relevant experience and training in Information Technology.
In-depth knowledge and experience in the administration of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Defender XDR, SharePoint Management, Intune and Configuration Manager, Windows Server 2022, Cybersecurity Compliance/ Monitoring, PowerShell, and VMware.
Must possess a valid driver's license or obtain one within 30 days of hire and be able to work at all campus locations. A flexible schedule is required, which may include telework work, evenings, and weekends.
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of: Microsoft 365 Administration: Manage and support Microsoft 365 services and authentication, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Microsoft Defender XDR: Implement and maintain security measures using Microsoft Defender to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
SharePoint Management: Administer SharePoint environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Intune and Configuration Manager: Deploy and manage devices and applications using Intune and Configuration Manager.
Windows Server 2022: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server 2022, ensuring high availability and performance.
Cybersecurity Compliance: Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations, conducting regular audits and assessments.
PowerShell: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
Security Monitoring: Monitor security systems and respond to incidents using Microsoft Sentinel and other tools.
VMware Administration: Manage virtual environments using VMware, optimizing resource utilization and performance.
Certificate Management: Oversee the lifecycle of digital certificates, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and replacement.
General knowledge of:
Network Management: Working knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless, and firewalls with IPS/IDS features, ensuring reliable connectivity and security at an enterprise level of a 1000 users or more.
