Job Overview:

McDermott is looking for a Principal Cost Controls Specialist with strong LNG background to join the project controls team. The Principal Cost Control Specialist will support the established progressing procedures, and best practices to ensure that proper progressing is performed on projects during all phases of execution of the work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates development of project control budget in conjunction with project directorate and project management teams at project locations
  • Monitors and maintains project control budget and estimate at completion with updates received from project change coordinator, contract administration and project management teams at project locations
  • Develop forecast at completion (EAC) based on current expenditures, commitments and trends against the project.
  • Develop project and corporate cost reporting and variance analysis including monthly reports and reviews (PMR-Project Monthly Report, PFR-Project Finances Report, APS-Area Performance Summary, EPR Executive Project Report).
  • Maintain cost project database with monthly reports ran; enterprise resource planning (ERP) such as JDE (PSR, CDR, Commitment Report, Manhours report), MCPM (Project Status Report, Budget Release, Change Register and Labor Details).
  • Provides input and supports required for preparation of client invoice
  • Provides recommendations for corrective action to program directorate
  • Ability to interact on high level with management as well as technically with engineers


QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • 10 - 15 Years' experience in Cost Management in Oil & Gas or in related / comparable industries
  • Good Communication skills, team player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint & workable to deal with resistance
  • Meet deadlines and can handle changing needs and requirements
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Planning/Scheduling procedures and best practices
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Actively develop more FEED and EPC knowledge.
  • Experience in working with and in financial data bases like JDE
