Senior Software Engineering Manager

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our team in El Segundo, CA. This manager will serve as the Senior Satellite Software Products/Process Manager within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space Mission Systems (SMS) organization's Satellite Space Software Products group.

The candidate will lead program/organizational integration of multiple simultaneous satellite software-aligned products/initiatives (and manage diverse sub-teams of software engineers who support them), to ensure alignment to business & technical strategies, goals, and objectives for new & existing satellite programs. This will include:
DevSecOps (DSO) toolchain & satellite infrastructure software instantiation/integration: Drives DSO implementation into portfolio of SMS programs and provides oversight/approval for DSO technical execution strategies/plans. Drives user-oriented solutions for urgent/emergent toolchain issues.
Satellite software process/metrics governance & implementation: Oversees integration of satellite software best-practices and metrics-generation into program/product workflows. Approves updates to baseline policies/procedures/plans.
Oversight of development & program integration for the following product areas:
o Satellite systems engineering database software product line & associated tools/services
o Satellite cybersecurity software

Position Responsibilities:
Within the satellite software domain, leads department/organizational development & program integration of DevSecOps toolchains & software infrastructure, software development process governance, satellite data management products/services, and cybersecurity software
Must have the ability to solve complex problems and work multiple tasks simultaneously; must be familiar with managing development projects and industry equivalent practices
Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders and partners; provides oversight of technical approaches, products, and processes, and provides technical recommendations to the engineering community
Forecasts, obtains, and manages personnel to meet project and organizational requirements; acquires, deploys, and schedules personnel to meet organizational objectives
Manages, develops, and motivates a group of roughly 35 software engineers allocated to multiple inter-related teams
Inspires change, efficiency, risk management, innovative process improvement, and exploration of new technologies
Champions Agile software development and automation

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at El Segundo, CA.

Basic Qualifications:

Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance post-start
5+ years of experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
3+ years of experience years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks
3+ years of experience with modern software development methodologies
Experience with DevSecOps

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience in the satellite software domain
Experience with DevSecOps / Continuous Integration (CI) using GitLab the ecosystem
Experience at successfully managing within a complex IPT to produce results within budget, o schedule, and to performance requirements
Experience at successfully working with a community of diverse software product owners & systems engineering to integrate software into complex systems
Experience with EVMS within an Agile construct
An existing/active Top-Secret/SCI U.S. Security clearance
