Opportunity Overview:
iSphere is seeking a highly skilled Database Developer / Data Modeler for a 2+ month onsite contract based in Austin, Texas. This position supports critical data systems within the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), specifically for the Division of Regulatory Services. You will lead complex database and data modeling tasks to ensure the performance, integration, and compliance of state reporting and data management systems.
This role combines hands-on PL/SQL development, logical and physical data modeling, and ETL mapping across Oracle Cloud RDBMS and Salesforce CRM platforms.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze user data requirements and translate them into scalable database structures and shared data environments

Develop, maintain, and enhance logical and physical data models and entity relationship diagrams (ERDs)

Implement database objects in Oracle Cloud RDBMS and Salesforce CRM environments

Use modeling tools such as Tableau, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Informatica

Generate scripts to support database deployment and performance optimization
-
Write and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and triggers
-
Perform database performance tuning and implement recovery procedures as needed

Evaluate and improve database search strategies, data storage requirements, and metadata (data dictionary)

Ensure compliance with EIR accessibility standards and data security protocols

Create technical documentation, support system testing, and assist in team training

Participate in system development planning, reporting system enhancements, and solution prototyping
Minimum Required Skills & Experience:

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years collaborating across IT, operations, and development teams

Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

Experience working independently under limited supervision

Familiarity with ETL frameworks, Tableau dashboard creation, and PERL scripting

Certifications in Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Informatica
