Job Details

We are looking for a Compliance Director to join our team. Leading a small team, you will be responsible for managing the following aspects of compliance for Arlo:

  • Regulatory Compliance
  • ESG & CSR

You are expected to be the subject matter expert of the above, and represent Arlo on these topics. Key Responsibilities of the position include:-

Regulatory Compliance

  • Partner with Arlo engineering team, suppliers and 3rd party test labs to identify necessary regulatory compliance, Radio compliance, safety & EMC standards and certification programs for all Arlo products.
  • Drive design compliance by influencing design reviews and risk analysis exercises on regulatory concerns.
  • Lead product homologation projects with areas where Arlo products are sold.
  • Lead the negotiation and influence with 3rd party test labs/certification bodies to ensure the right standards are applied, in order to maintain compliant in a cost effective manner.
  • Develop and drive product test plan with 3rd party test labs and project manage international regulatory approvals to appropriate standards are completed in a timely manner.
  • Serve as Arlo's primary contact to liaise and influence customers, suppliers, 3rd party test labs/certification bodies. Triage with internal departments as required.
  • Manage carrier certification process including GCF, PTCRB certifications for Arlo's cellular products.
  • Lead the team to work with other internal departments to address and resolve regulatory issues.
  • Own all regulatory compliance documentation as per Arlo's established guidelines.
  • Be the advocate to promote awareness of regulatory compliance requirements both internally and externally, such as ODMs.

ESG & CSR

  • Develop ESG agenda that align with Arlo's goals and industry best practices.
  • Lead the development of the ESG reporting. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information to publish ESG reporting. Understand from external rating agencies on reporting requirements.
  • Define and implement Arlo's sustainability program, standards and procedures
  • Propose for continuous improvement on ESG - evaluate and develop programs with internal and/or external stakeholders, including ODMs, suppliers to enhance ESG and make positive impact to the community.
  • Identify risk in supply chain, develop audit plan, direct audits and ensure supplier corrective actions are effective.
  • Understand customers' requirement on CSR/ESG related topics (e.g. Carbon Disclosure Programs) so that Arlo fulfill these requirement.
  • Advocate on Arlo's effort on the topic, both internally and externally. Tell our story of ESG goals, progress and achievements and foster a culture of sustainability.

The successful candidate will have:-

  • A minimum of 5 years' of experience as a function head with successful track records in achieving via success via leading a team.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, such as security cameras, lights, battery, power adaptor, solar panel, with thorough understanding on the latest product safety compliance standard and certification process with 3rd party labs.
  • Experience with carrier certifications like Verizon, ATT, US Cellular, Z-wave, ZigBee and Telstra, is a plus.
  • Experience in running ESG programs. Resourceful in ESG, with knowledge to the latest and trends in ESG.
  • Working knowledge of product configuration management practices (BOMs, specifications, ECR/ECO/MCO, part numbers, rules of interchangeability).
  • Highly analytical. Organized and strong program management skills.
  • Ability to influence. A strong communicator that can tell stories.

It is important to note that this is a hybrid role and you would be required to visit the office regularly, or as required to meet with stakeholders. There will also be requirement to travel to other offices, test labs and ODMs.

The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between $140,000 to 250,755/year, plus equity. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits.
