Job Description: Project Manager

Location: Marysville, Ohio local candidates (ColumbMarysville, OH)

Duration: Initial Term 6 months but could be extended to multi-year

Key Areas of Focus: SAP based projects including but not limited to S4 transformation

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Leads and delivers multiple mixed complexity projects through consistent communication with project stakeholders and cross functional teams.
  • Develops, analyzes, and manages all touch points of the project plan including responsibility for scheduling, global resource forecasting, managing project financials, and providing input and justification for costs and budget impact.
  • Monitors and controls the overall project performance (timeline, budget, and resource utilization) against plan and develops and implements adjustments when issues are identified and require resolution.
  • Drives the work for complex and large project teams by recommending or requesting resources to support project demands, communicates a clear vision of business project goals and objectives, and provides functional expertise input for deliverables worked on by the team.
  • Holds project teams accountable for meeting or exceeding expectations by coordinating team activities, managing milestones and deliverables, providing performance feedback to team members' supervisors and guidance on smaller less complex projects managed by more junior Project Managers.
  • Controls and mitigates project risks by performing the qualitative and quantitative analysis of risks and trigger events, planning risk response, establishing contingency plans, anticipating dependencies affected by ongoing project changes, and recommending ways to mitigate future risks to management.
  • Manages the alignment, buy-in, and support of project stakeholders by building and maintaining relationships with internal customers, third party vendors, and senior management.
  • Manages designated work streams and constituents to meet customer and business needs by translating business plans into tactical action items and provides training and development opportunities for lower level project managers.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on key metrics (i.e. deliverables, duration, benefits) and communicating findings to program managers and top management.
  • Manage the full project life cycle including requirements gathering, creation of project plans and schedules, obtaining and managing resources, managing budget, and facilitating project execution, deployment, and closure.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation including meeting minutes, action items, issues lists, and risk management plans.
  • Monitor the creation of all project deliverables to ensure adherence to quality standards including design documents, test plans, training materials, and operations documentation.
  • Create and communicate project milestone documents, dashboards, ROI tables, and departmental success metrics.

Experience.

6 years' experience working on and/or managing project(s) involving the implementation of project life cycle methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, process management, organizational change).

Specific skills.

Proven working experience in project management

Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills

Ability to analyze requirements to ensure scope is being met on projects

Extensive consulting experience, technical or business lead on projects and/or any prior leadership role would be beneficial

Ability to become a strategic business partner

Ability to encourage and recognize the valuable contributions of others

Ability to respect and motivate stakeholders

Ability to stress integrity and accountability

Ability to seek out ownership and be fully vested in the success of the project

Ability to work with ambiguity on a regular basis
